I’m an Anglo/ Austrian cis-gendered male, an individual and group psychotherapist, counsellor, clinical supervisor, and trainer. My background lies in over thirty years NHS psychiatry working with adults, children, and families; I have also worked in social work and performing arts. I’m also a Gestalt projective arts trainer, Lifemusic practitioner, and writer. Details can be found on my website: www.gacp.co.uk, also on the Gestalt Centre London’s register of psychotherapists and the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE)’s website (Faculty – Wellbeing Diploma).
My practice draws inspiration from the arts-based Gestalt work with young people of Violet Oaklander and Mark McConville. I have particular interests in transcultural work, inter-generational trauma, low confidence, assertiveness, and improvisation. I enjoy teaching peripatetically (UK and abroad) and offer sessions al fresco (local park). I have a preference for working face-to-face with clients and supervisees where possible. My friendly, hypoallergenic dog Coco functions as ‘co-therapist’; she attends clients’ therapy sessions on-site.
