I qualified as a Gestalt psychotherapist over ten years ago now, after previously working for several years as a counsellor. I completed my supervision training through Leeds University in 2011. My background has involved work in the voluntary sector (Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling Service, Domestic Abuse Projects, HIV/AIDS projects and Sheffield Women’s Counselling and Therapy Service) and the NHS.
I have worked in the NHS for over twelve years now as a Senior Psychotherapist in a secondary care psychological therapies service. I have also undertaken additional training in EMDR therapy and DBT therapy. I work with individuals and groups and typically see people for medium to long term therapy, although I am also happy to work in a time limited model.
My work over the years has been rich and varied but I have particularly focused on seeing people who have experienced some kind of relational trauma, such as abuse. More generally, difficulties in relationships feature strongly in my work.
Clinical Supervision offered to Counselling / Psychotherapy practitioners, working in private practice and also in organisations such as the NHS, Education, Mental Health Charities and so on.
