I have been working as a therapist for well over 20 years. At the heart of my philosophy is my deep belief in the importance of my relationship with those I work with providing the ground in which they can learn and grow. My current professional interests include bodywork, mindfulness and supporting clients to explore their spirituality.
I work with individuals, couples and groups who bring a wide variety of issues. These include: trauma, abuse (emotional, physical, sexual), depression, anxiety, domestic violence, sexuality, gender identity, personal development, spirituality, work and career issues, assertiveness, eating disorders, loss, bereavement, grief, anger, relationship difficulties, stress, addictions and low self esteem.
I am passionate about my work as a psychotherapist and supporting people to make changes in the way they live their lives. Highly committed to my own personal and professional growth, I participate in regular continuing professional development courses, meditate daily and take time to go on retreat for at least a week a year. I spend my free time growing organic vegetables, hiking and playing the accordion
I run two weekly psychotherapy groups, one for both men and women, and one for women only. Both meet in Birmingham. See my website for further details.
I am an experienced trainer and supervisor and an accredited Training and Supervising Member of the Gestalt Psychotherapy and Training Institute (GPTI). I have been involved in teaching psychotherapy and counselling for many years both in the UK and abroad. Places I have taught include Manchester Gestalt Centre, (where I was part of the team teaching the four year training leading to UKCP registration for many years) as well as York Gestalt Training, Edinburgh Gestalt Institute, Birmingham Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre and the Slovenia Institute for Gestalt Therapy.
