Ethics & Professional Conduct

GPTI is a member organisation of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and as such uses its framework for Ethics and Professional Conduct as guidance for practising safely and confidentially.

The UKCP Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct is an important statement for GPTI members and trainees.  It provides us with a framework of reference for addressing ethical issues that may arise in relation to clients, trainers, or colleagues.

Complaints against qualified members in regard to their practice as psychotherapists should be made to UKCP.

Complaints against qualified members in regard to their practice as supervisors, or trainee members in regard to their practice as trainee psychotherapists should be made to the GPTI Ethics Committee.
