UKCP

The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a body which provides:

– a set of training standards to which training organisations adhere to

– a national register of qualified psychotherapists in the UK

– A regulatory system i.e. a code of ethics which all practitioners adhere to and a complaints process for members of the public

– An inspection system of training organisation

GPTI is a member organisation UKCP and Trainees who pass the GPTI examination are put forward for the UKCP national register of psychotherapists once they fulfil UKCP’s training and practice requirements.

UKCP now have free membership for Students (defined as not yet seeing clients) and a Bursary Scheme for Trainees (defined as seeing clients) – see News item in members area.
